I got this recipe from my mom and I think she got it from my neighbor who had won actual cooking awards for it. Its awesome. I made it for our high school d-group tonight as some of the girls actually requested it. Its going to be yummy!
Strawberry Pretzel Dessert
2 cups crushed pretzels
1.5 sticks of melted margarine
3 Tablespoons sugar
8 oz cream cheese, softened
1 cup sugar
Crushed pineapple (about 1/2 can)
8 oz cool whip
1 Tablespoon Milk
6 oz strawberry jello (2 pkgs)
Strawberries, cut up (either 2 10 oz cartons frozen, or 2 pkgs fresh)
1. Combine 1st 3 ingredients and press onto bottom of 9X13 pan. Bake this crust for 8 min at 400 Degrees. Cool.
2. Beat cream cheese, sugar and milk with mixer. Then fold in cool whip and crushed pineapple. Spread over cooled pretzel crust (or sometimes I first put this mixture in fridge to set a bit).
3. Mix jello and 2 c. boiling water. Add frozen berries and mix. (Or if you’re using fresh, put 12 ice cubes in jello, then add strawberries.) Stir well, chill. Pour over cream cheese mixture before its completely set.
4. Refridgerate until jello is fully set.
