I had heard a number of people talk about how good and healthy kale chips are. But honestly, I was skeptical. Could dried green stuff actually be edible??
When I saw this on pinterest i decided I’d give it a try. I was surprised that I couldn’t find kale at publix. Surprisingly I did find it at Walmart for less than a dollar a bundle. So, I tried it out the other day and it was actually pretty good.
The first batch ended up a little to salty and greasy. The second batch I sprayed with cooking spray instead of sprinkling in olive oil to avoid the extra greasy taste. And I seasoned half with a herb & garlic seasoning mix. The other half I sprinkled with mesquite seasoning.
Seth and I both agreed the herb & garlic were the best. But he wasn’t that big of a fan of any of them. I thought they were all pretty good and if they weren’t green they could have been crispy thin potato chips.
Our youth dgroup tried some and of course they all didn’t like them. Except one of the guys. I think it was mainly because it was green. Really, if they looked like potato chips they would have eaten them fine.
But surprisingly Haddie loved them. She wanted to eat them for breakfast! And she finished them all up. I called them green chips in hoping that she’d eat them better. And I guess it worked. Since she ate them so well, I’m sure I’ll make them again!
