My name is Lacey and I am a Christian, homeschooling mom and youth minister’s wife. I married my husband, Seth, in December 2003. Since that time we have been involved in youth ministry and have loved every minute of it (well…almost!).
We have three children. Our first and only biological child is Haddie (5). In December of 2012, we added Kady (2) to our family. And 2 days later, Jenco (19) permanently joined our family. Kady’s adoption was final in November of 2013 (it felt like it took forever! And I can now tell you what lawyer to never use!). Jenco’s adoption was finalized May 2014 (another long process with some unexpected setbacks). For more info check out my post: How We Added 2 in 2 Days!
A few years ago I resigned from my part-time at Circles of Care, a mental health facility. So, I am now a full-time stay-at-home mom and loving every minute of it. I’m still trying to learn how to best use my time and balance one-income finances.
I graduated from Florida Christian College in 2005 with a Bible/Christian Ministry-Counseling Degree. And I completed 1/3 of my Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy at Liberty University. I stopped classes after I became pretty sick during my pregnancy and then decided to be a full-time mom. No sense in going into anymore debt if I’m not going to be using my degree professionally. I learned so much more from working than I ever did with a degree anyways! And, now 6 yrs later I’m still paying off my student loans. Ugh!
As for hobbies… I love to read (but don’t have much time for it anymore), mainly fiction but also some Christian books and autobiographies. I sometimes sew, but mainly just to hem my pants…since I’m a bit vertically challenged. I also enjoy blogging, making jewelry, quilting, and crafting when inspired by Pinterest.. Seth and I also enjoy watching TV and movies, and playing games (we’re big Ticket to Ride fans, if you don’t know, you should!).
And most importantly, I love Jesus Christ. He has blessed our lives so much and I am on a continual journey, w/ its up and downs, to better understand and follow Him more!
